General Information
The two terminal buildings (Gatwick North & Gatwick South) are connected by a monorail (the Transit). Easy vehicle access to both terminals is had by road from the M23. The mainline railway station is at the south terminal.
Be under no illusion that London Gatwick Airport is about a seamless, easy, convenient travel experience. Oh dear me no! - London Gatwick Airport is about shopping and spending your money. You will be kept hanging around for hours so that you have every opportunity to visit ALL the shops, eateries and drinkeries on both land-side and air-side. The shops pay a very high rent to BAA and the prices in the shops reflect this. You will be surprised just how many items your kids cannot live without.
Gatwick Arrivals & Departures
For clarification ‘Arrivals’ refers to those flying into Gatwick Airport and ‘Departures’ refers to those arriving at Gatwick Airport to fly out. I know it sounds obvious but you would be surprised at how many get confused.
Getting to the airport to ‘Depart’
Both ‘Departure’ and ‘Arrivals’ routes are well sign-posted, above the roadway, at both terminals.
